Despite being seen often in the news, the debate around the causes, effects and mitigation of climate change is often viewed as the realm of scientists. However, this course will provide students with an understanding of the workings of our climate system, the key players and what can be done to protect the planet. Students will develop a holistic view of an integrated climate system, and will critically assess how the study of the predictions of the past affect the future. This programme will enable students to understand the fundamental issues of climate change and enable them to be part of the discussion. By the end of this course, students will have not only learnt a great deal about the most important science affecting our lives, but also have picked up key transferable skills that they can apply to other scientific disciplines and endeavours.
