Gain an understanding of the dynamism of the earth by delving into climate change science. Students of this course develop an appreciation of the power of planet Earth.
This course on the processes of Earth will give students an understanding of the dynamism of the Earth, and the processes occurring right beneath their feet. Students will study a variety of topics, ranging from the Earth's formation and structure and how this influences surface features, to the theory of plate tectonics and even out into the solar system. They will also look at all the different types of rocks, including metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary. Over the course of this programme, students will gain a huge appreciation for the immense power of our planet and the role it plays in our everyday life. A high level of interaction and engagement is encouraged on this course, and those students who carry out the relevant activities and exercises between classes will receive the most benefit.
